Its construction started in 1815, and is located in one of
the squares best preserved of the historical part of the city. The
church tower stands out in the neoclassical façade that dates back to
the 19th century. It was rebuilt in the 1950s.

Holguin, that for many years has been helping people in need with medical
drugs and supplies, food and basic needs. They have also helped orphanages
and elderly homes in the city and the province.

along with all the churches in the city help to alleviate the needs of many

"good Samaritan", you can help Cuban people in many ways. You can
take donations to any of the churches or religious organizations in the city
and they will distribute it to people in need.
This donations could be direct financial
help with money, used and second hand clothing, non perishable food, non
prescription medications like pain-killers, vitamins and mineral
supplements, antacids, antidiarrhea, colds and flu medications,
antiallergics, ear, nose and eyes drops, antibiotic dermatological ointments
and other skin medicinal products, first aid and many other things.
If you are able to take donations of
prescription medications you should go to any of the hospitals in the city.
All of them have offices to reception donations or you can take them
directly to the hospital pharmacy. They mainly need drugs for the heart,
diabetes, thyroid, steroids, antibiotics, asthma, chemotherapy,
